A re-make of the same director's 1997 Austrian film, Funny Games is a frightening, extremely visceral nightmare on the big screen, as a pair of young psychopaths terrorise a family who have just arrived at their holiday home. The way the family gradually realise the true horror of their situation, as their cosy well heeled world caves in around them, is both compelling and repugnant to watch.
