Suzanne is a charming mother trying to deal with the struggles of life. Her husband left, leaving her a single mother to Simon, she is busy at work, as a puppeteer, and she is having problems with her tenants downstairs. She decides to hire a Chinese film student, Song Fang, to look after her son, who soon, starts to share an imaginary world together, where a strange red balloon follows them, even in the exhibition space of the Musée d'Orsay.
