A powerful drama that examines the effect of an unnamed war upon the Russian soldiers and upon the local Chechen citizens.
The film follows an elderly woman who visits her grandson, a Russian army officer, at his army camp inside Chechnya. The film captures her strong, feisty and caring character who is intimidated by no one, neither the Russian soldiers questioning her identity in the place or the Chechens whose town has been taken over.
