Exhibitions | All About Me

Showing: Mon 28th Apr - Fri 30th May

An exhibition that tells you more about the people who live in your community

Katie Moritz, the Community Arts Facilitator at Watermans, has been working with a number of refugee groups from January to April 2008.

This exhibition celebrates the outcomes of these projects and the achievements of the participants.

The first exhibit is the interior design project, created by the participants of the ‘New Communities' Nursery Group. The ladies have made models that show the kind of space they would like to live in, using 3D construction, textiles and painting, selecting the colour schemes and style that reflect them.

The second exhibit is cd designs by the participants at ‘Space' nursery group, including women from a wide range of ethnic origins. The participants have created cd covers using new media techniques that depict them as powerful young women, drawing inspiration from their interests, backgrounds and famous recording artists.

Come along and broaden your horizon
