Light Graffiti by Young People in Brent, July - August
2011
LIGHT GRAFFITI is a very exciting arts project where young
people learnt how to make light drawings and animation. Led by
international artist Tine Bech, LIGHT GRAFFITI has been running
during July /August in four different areas of Brent.
The participants aged between 14-19 years old learnt how to use
creative and digital photography to make light drawings as well as
understand the science behind the work.
Examples of their work was presented at an exhibition curated by
the young people themselves at Brent Town Hall on Tuesday 30th
August.
The project was delivered by Watermans, West London's leading
arts organisation working with young people and communities. The
responses to the project have been extremely positive, and here is
what one young person commented: 'The project was much better than
I ever expected. I thought we would be using spray cans and doing
normal graffiti, but this way is much more fun.'
