Range of target outcomes for participants:

  • To engage with all people in the area and integrate different groups into a community space
  • For the project outcomes to be embedded into the participants daily lives
  • To provide regular physical exercise and deliver health improvements
  • To provide alternative activities, education and support for people with different learning needs
  • To improve self- esteem and socialisation
  • To allow participants to spend time away from their everyday environment, families and carers in order to build confidence, independence and social skills
  • To provide positive activities that can lead to future developmentopportunities for the participants

All of the above outcomes can be embedded into the participants' daily lives away from Watermans and help to create a socially engaged, cohesive and creative community.

Target outcomes for funders, councils and other organisations:

  • Deliver a constantly high standard of product to the people of Hounslow and surrounding areas
  • To maintain the building and ensure its suitability for use as a community venue
  • To provide a culturally diverse programme that engages with different communities
  • To provide a regular and constantly high standard of workshops for people with learning and physical disabilities, children, young people and those with mental health issues
  • To demonstrate the lasting impact Watermans activities has had on individuals
  • To provide outdoor arts projects/ performances in Hounslow's community spaces
  • To uphold Watermans position as a cultural centre in West London

Overall Watermans is the borough's most developed community building with high- quality facilities and professional support staff who help to deliver on an extensive range of activities.
