This year marks the 300th Anniversary of the date when Guru Gobind Singh Ji (1666-1708) the tenth and last Guru who founded Sikhism, declared to his followers that henceforth (the Sikh Holy Scripture) the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, would become an embodiment of the living Guru, and they should cease to worship any living person. This event is termed, Guru Gaddi Day, and will take place on October 5, 2008.
To venerate the occasion, Mathribhoomi Theatre Company in association with Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha - Hounslow, present Guru Maneo Granth (Revere the Granth Sahib as the Guru), a contemporary Punjabi religious play, that explores the importance of sticking firmly to your spiritual path, and not start running after people who deceive us emotionally and financially.
This is a story of a Sikh family who have full faith in Waheguru (Infinite Creator), but one day after losing his money in business Joginder Singh gets depressed and begins to doubt looks for affirmation from another human being. But, through the faith of his wife, Manjeet Kaur in Waheguru and his Sachi Bani (True Scripture), the wellbeing and happiness of the family is restoredJoin the mailing list
