About this event
About French Impressions
French Impressions is an opportunity for those interested in film, especially French film, to watch a movie and discuss it in a discussion led by our resident French film expert, Jon Davies.
This programme includes the TALK at 1pm-2pm and a SCREENING OF THE FILM at 2.30pm. There is a small break to allow you to get some refreshments before watching the film and there is some time after the film to ask further questions.
Director and co-writer Patrice Leconte's script stays faithful to author Georges Simenon's tightly constructed original story, Maigret et la Jeune Morte, and the film's rich ochre visuals perfectly embody the elegance of the period.★★★★ Terry Staunton, Radio Times
