About this event

This year, 2019 the World Wide Web (www) is celebrating 30 years of existence. ‘Vague, but exciting’, this was how Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s boss responded to his proposal back in 1989. The Web would soon revolutionise life as we know it.

This anniversary is a perfect occasion for exhibiting a solo show of one of the most emblematic digital artists using the web as their main tool – Systaime. His artist name is a combination of the word “system” and the verb “aimer” (to love).  It symbolises the empathy that is necessary to circumvent, to divert or to subvert existing systems.

Systaime is the creator of The French Trash Touch movement and mixes the low and high culture, the pop culture, the net culture and the visual culture with the internet folklore.

He offers an explosive mashup of the internet aesthetics, where information, images and comments are remixed in an audio visual spectacle which is used to display the patterns that are dominating the internet, its icons, its manifestations and its digital prosperity.

The solo show H4ppy D33p W3b (Happy Deep Web), composed exclusively of videos, is an esoteric manifestation of today’s digital pop culture.

Open your minds and take a deep dive into the universe of the web…
