Discover all about the string quartet in this informative and interactive concert for all the family. With music ranging from baroque to pop, demonstrations of each instrument and descriptive commentary on all the pieces played, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the different instruments, music styles and moods and sounds of a string quartet

The Waterman’s String Quartet is made up of musicians who regularly play with BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, RPO, Royal Opera House, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

During the workshop you’ll:

  • Learn about the four instruments that make a string quartet

  • Hear famous pieces of music written just for a string quartet

  • Understand how music can give a difference mood or atmosphere
