About this event

In the future, Watermans hopes to move to a new building located in the heart of Brentford.

The new design includes a big screen on the outside façade of the building. The screen will show new media artworks, in line with our role as one of Arts Council England’s key organisations for the development and distribution of new media arts in the UK.

We have been working with two artistic companies, Invisible Flock and Nexus Studios, to develop prototypes for the screen. One of the prototypes will be developed into a commission and displayed on the outside of the new building.

An important part of the R&D process is getting the view of our audiences on what they like and why. So please come and take a look and let us know your opinion filling in the short questionnaire.

Fording by Invisible Flock

Mapping the invisible ecosystems at play along the length of the River Brentford capturing fluid dynamics, flow, chemical concentrations of the water alongside aerial and underwater footage, this work magnifies the hidden lifeform of the river. The river as a body, a resource, carving its way through the landscape. This work asks how we can feel the living data generated by our water bodies and amplify the river’s existence in the growing urban context.

Interactive playground by Nexus Studios & Lucas Zanotto

A series of tools/installations that affect the content on the big screen. Think of an interactive playground. The playground will have sensors that are connected to graphic animations on the big screen that change over time.

This is a free event and open to all, so no ticket is required.
