About this event

A specially designed online percussion project for Children and Young People with Disabilities or Special Educational Needs.

Children will learn 3 funky rhythmic world music songs with body percussion & simple moves. Working with Sandra Dyer, an experience musician, and in your own time with family support, you'll learn how to build simple rhythms using vocal percussion and easy-to-make percussion instruments from household items.

This project will allow space and opportunity for creative input. As well as weekly Zoom sessions with Sandra, children will be encouraged to learn and develop material in their own time, at their own pace with the use of accompanying links to videos and backing tracks. We will encourage you to make home recordings playing your rhythms. Sandra will be able to encourage and support you to make a fantastic home recording of your family.

These will be put together and edited to create an end of project video.

How to Join

The project lasts from 11 August to 13 October. It includes 10 Zoom workshops of 30 mins on Tuesdays at

5-5.30pm (ages 5-12)
