About this event

‘Doyen of cabaret’ (Time Out) Paul L Martin has teamed up with musical director Jordan Clarke and band (Tristan Butler and Petru Cotarcea) to bring you PAULUS: beta; the first show from Martin’s new gender-fluid, alt-drag persona, PAULUS.

A queer fairytale
A one-person musical
A personal story of showbiz, booze and leggings

Paulus is a chanteux who lives in the shadows of society. Wherever there are families watching The One Show, Paulus is nearby with wire-clippers. Wherever people extol the virtues of Michael McIntyre, Paulus is prepared with gaffer tape. We are living in a dark and dingy world. Paulus just snuffed out a candle.

Award-winning producer and performer Paul L Martin is a stalwart of the UK cabaret scene, having shaped this century’s incarnation of it as an artiste, promoter, agent, and advocate.  He created the London Cabaret Awards, and is prominently featured on BBC1’s Saturday Night Talent Contest ‘All Together Now’ as the hard-to-impress judge, ‘Paulus’.
