About this event

#SHAKE_ME is an interactive dance performance where the specators control the dancer through technology.

Both playful and cruel, #SHAKE_ME questions the ‘uber-ization’ of the world through the transfer of responsibilities from humans to machines or algorithms, where the interface acts as a filter to empathy. This media work consists of balancing perfectly the techniques of performance (sound, lighting, video) in order to create synesthesis and a nearly surgical precision in interaction.

As a counterpoint #SHAKE_ME builds throughout the performance a frontal relationship from human to human, between pleasure and endurance, dancer and spectators.

#SHAKE_ME questions the body in the digital age, in two words: Are we exponential bodies or slave bodies?

About the company

LeClairObscur brings together a group of artists and developers and operates  at the intersection of performing arts and digital arts, examining the place of the human being in synthetic and omniscient environments. Through hybrid forms and laboratories, shows, performances or installations, they explore both the question of being human in the 21st century and the future of show forms. The content is the form.
