The video fetish finger combines experimental video clips, that deal with the complexity of haptic perception in the context of screen based digital media. Through digitalization and the associated dematerialization of objects, the longing for haptic perception often increases. The moving images are associatively concerned with contact at the interface between the physical and the virtual, activeness and passiveness.

In addition to images of gestures and actions, 3D animations and photographs, video clips of so called „Food Diaries“ are included in the work, in which the daily diet of various individuals is filmed and then uploaded to Youtube. Formally, the video „Fetish Finger“ is read as if scrolling down a webpage. The narrative takes place from top to bottom


Susanna Flock graduated at the University of Art and Design Linz (2015) and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (2017), Austria. Recently, she was awarded with the Pixel, Bytes and Film residency (2020), Viktor-Fogarassy-Price (2019), the Rote Fabrik residency Zurich (2019), start-scholarship for media arts Austria (2018), with a fellowship at Academy Schloss Solitude (2018). Her works have been shown in solo exhibitions at Titanik Gallery (Turku 2020), Jedna Dva Tři Gallery (Prague 2019), EKA Galerii (Tallinn 2017), Neue Galerie (Graz 2017) and HDLU (Zagreb 2017). She has participated in group exhibitions and screenings in selected venues, among others, “Stormy Weather”, at Kunstraum Niederösterreich, “Triple – Flock, Aubé, Watson” Sporobole art center, Sherbrooke, Canada, Linz FMR 2019 “Art in digital contexts and public spaces”, Linz.
