About TW3 Creative Space

TW3 Creative Space was developed by the Hounslow Central Local Advisory Group (LAG), It is one of four LAGs established by Creative People and Places Hounslow. The LAG is made up of people who live, work or have a vested interest in the local area.  Working with the support of the Community Arts Worker (CAW) the LAG programmes arts and cultural activities for their local area.

What Happens at TW3 Creative Space?

The LAG developed local activities and events as part of the 2016 programme of national events. These included: Get Creative Festival; Big Dance Bus and Fun Palaces. They then decided to focus on and challenge people’s perception of Hounslow High Street. The group worked with The Brick Box, an artist-led Community Interest Company with a socially engaged, place based practice. They programme events and activities to engage a passing audience. The LAG formed the name TW3 Creative Space with the tag line “You can Make it, Try it, Do it” to give the project its own identity.

What Has Happened So Far?

The programme began in May 2017 based on the theme of music and included various activities for participants of all ages to try on Hounslow High Street. It included activities such as: steel pan workshops facilitated by The Steel Pan Agency; an opportunity to sing along with Hounslow Community Choir and the chance to make an interactive installation with The Junk Orchestra. This was followed by a new visual arts focus and then by activities around recipe sharing and storytelling. In 2021, TW3 Creative Space expanded into the Treaty Centre, making use of the former Debenhams storefront for workshops and installations.
