As well as reflecting Watermans’ commitment to continuously improving its service, this puts Watermans in a strong position when bidding for many Social Contracts that involve arts and culture.
ISO:9001 is the global standard established to help organisations manage and improve their performance. The accreditation process involves a thorough examination of the organisation’s systems and processes to ensure that they comply with current best practice and to see that they are implemented, to help provide continuous improvements in the services and activities delivered. This standard has been adopted globally and is the only internationally recognised standard related to the quality of the performance of an organisation. Each year, as more and more organisations earn accreditation, a growing number expect a similar level of performance from the companies they choose to work with.
Accreditation for Watermans involved a significant investment in time, systems and people. This was part of a 4-year organisational development project designed to ensure that Watermans was able to win and deliver multiple public sector contracts efficiently and to the highest possible quality. This development was funded by the Social Investment Business. Watermans has worked with consultants such as KPMG, Red Ochre and Matter & Co to develop our approach.
Watermans gained ISO:9001 accreditation at the first time of asking.
