About this event
A mesmerising animated projection of a river in our riverside gallery.
London and Beijing based new media artist Jiayu Liu’s work explores our relationship and complex perspectives on nature, seeking to provoke behaviour responses and emotional resonance from audiences without giving away any instructions or explanations.
Her new project What if we embed a wormhole in culture? presents two rivers, in London and Beijing, through generated animation using real-time data from Lakeside Great Wall China, as an attempt to transcend visitors between two different worlds.
Jiayu Liu’s conceptual and evocative light installations, such as real-time simulations of ocean waves, butterflies in a magic forest or icebergs in a tropical Chinese garden, have been exhibited internationally, including at K11Art space, CAFAMusem, Kinetica Art Fair, 798 New Media Light Festival and more.
This is a free event and open to all, so no ticket is required.
