“Take me to London!” is a creative media project in which hundreds of young people learn new skills in film-making and digital photography while taking part in a project that celebrates London in the three years leading up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Take me to London! encourages young people to explore new parts of the city and produce films and digital stories about their visits. It brings together perspectives from many different communities, backgrounds and abilities. As the project occurs every year until the games begin, it will also reveal how young people’s perceptions of their city change as we approach 2012.
This exhibition of the films and digital stories provides a fresh perspective of the challenge that the games represents as seen through the unfettered eyes of young people. They are at once humorous, disbelieving, respectful and inspiring.
