About this event

In the city, a team of artists settles in, meets the residents, listens, exchanges, and gathers gestures. Throughout the day, a space is created: for meeting, play, and conversation, where anyone can drop by, stay, or take part. In the evening, everything gathered comes together. The gestures become a collective dance. Stories circulate, bodies respond to one another, and music brings everyone together. A unique performance is created, woven from what has been experienced together and the gestures received. Assemblée transforms public space into a place of attentiveness and presence, where they look at things differently and allow us to be moved by others.

About Sauf le Dimanche

Sauf le Dimanche is a French contemporary dance company specialising in creating performances in public spaces and unconventional venues rather than traditional theatres. The company was founded in 2006 by choreographers and dancers Émilie Buestel and Marie Doiret. Their work is particularly known for creating dance pieces in everyday settings such as streets, squares, schools, libraries, retirement homes, apartments and museums/ The company encourages interaction and dialogue with audiences, often blurring the line between performer and spectator. It develops participatory and site-specific works that respond to the particular location and community in which they are performed. Recent projects include Devenir sœurs (Becoming Sisters), a 2026 public-space duet exploring long-term artistic collaboration, sisterhood and shared memory through movement.
