Technology Never Sleeps is the second part of an exciting three-year programme called Trajectories. Through thematic events including exhibitions, workshops, discussions and talks, the programme showcases and explores the great potential of creative learning and making to help us engage critically in the current and future issues of the world. Over the three years, the Trajectories platform provides an opportunity for academics, creative practitioners, students and audiences to consider together these themes

The artists showcased in this exhibition were selected through an open call responding to the above themes. The open call invited recent artist graduates and current postgraduate and PhD students in the UK to send work for consideration.

Trajectories I explored technology and the nature of truth and included a day of talks investigating how art and art education can help us reflect and engage critically with the moral and ethical debates of our time, but also help us navigate through a complex technological world.

Trajectories II focuses on the fact that the world we live in is filled with visible and invisible infrastructures that we have in most cases no choice than to accept. Wi-fi coverage, social media algorithms, invisible flows, data – can technology reject us? Control us? Does it have a poetical or spiritual dimension? Are we trapped within a system or – on the contrary –  are we in charge?
