Reflections on Resilience
A new podcast series talking about how we survived 2020
Reflections on Resilience is a 3-part podcast series bringing together individuals from different backgrounds, all of whom have been affected by the COVID-19 lockdowns in different ways. The podcasts reveal commonalities between the participants through their shared experience, leading to a sense of connection. The podcasts have been developed and coordinated by Rehmat Rayatt.
The podcasts are accompanied by six unique postcards, created by Aleesha Nandhra, and three activities to do at home, taking inspiration from conversations within the podcast. On the back of each postcard is a quote from one of the participants. Postcards and activity packs were shared with people in Hounslow via community groups, faith groups and foodbanks.
The aim of the project is to create connection between the participants, support listeners and participants with tools and techniques for moving through challenging emotions such as loneliness and create a safe container within which participants can express themselves.
The recordings were created by Hounslow community members, led by Rehmat Rayatt, in an environment of freedom of expression and whilst Creative People & Places Hounslow cannot always endorse the opinions expressed within we fully recognise the rights of the individuals to express them. Please note the podcasts include some discussions that listeners may find distressing including discussion of illness, depression and suicidal feelings.
This project is funded by the Department for Digital, Media, Culture and Sport via Arts Council England.
